Anniversaries are a good time to look back on our past: where we’ve been can tell us something about where we’re going. With the 100 year anniversary of America’s entry into World War I, the Middlesex County Office of Arts and History is showing an exhibit called “Over There, Over Here: New Jersey During WWI,” on display now through December 30th.

The exhibit focuses on the stories of New Jersey residents at the time of the war, looking at the effect that the war had on their lives — whether here at home or abroad. It will look at “the prelude to war, the home front, the roles of African Americans and women and how art, music and photography played a part during the War.” Look forward to art, artifacts, historical displays, lectures and more, providing a sense of the history of New Jersey during the war era and the ways its impact can still be felt today.
