New Jersey is home to some of the longest established townships in the United States — making for communities rich in history and primed for celebration. And this year marks Woodbridge Township’s 350th birthday, also known as its “Sesquarcentennial,” providing occasion for a year of honoring the township’s history, its present and its plans for the future.

First chartered on June 1st, 1669, Woodbridge is the oldest township in New Jersey. On June 1st of this year, the township will host a day-long festival at Merrill Park in Iselin, complete with five concerts, an old-time baseball game, food trucks and more. Musical entertainment will include sounds from The Tom Chapin Group, The Nerds, The Jazz Lobster Band, Wanted DOA Bon Jovi Tribute Band and Max Weinberg Jukebox Trio.

Other township events this year to look forward to include the Mayor’s Summer Concert Series, the BarronFest Art Festival, Taste of Woodbridge and much more.
