Back in the old days, when the Star Trek TV series began it’s episode introductions with William Shatner’s voice saying “Space….The Final Frontier,” I’d get goose bumps anticipating an interstellar adventure in outer space way off in the future. Well, the future is not way off any longer as it was only announced a few weeks ago that the first all-civilian human space mission is scheduled to launch by the end of 2021!

How timely then for Woodbridge residents at  Fox Hill RunForest View, Evergreen East, Evergreen Forest and Cloverleaf Gardens to participate in the Woodbridge Public Library’s virtual online presentation entitled; “What’s Next For Human Space Travel” Thursday, March 18 @ 7pm.

Led by Paul Cirillo, a board member of the New Jersey Astronomical Association, viewers will learn about the upcoming human space programs planned by the United States, China, Russia and four U.S. commercial companies. Cirillo was also the founder of Somerset County’s 4-H Space & Astronomy Club and its leader for ten years. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University and is an outreach “Ambassador” for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Topics covered will include space stations and gateways, moon bases, a journey to Mars and space tourism so prepare to go where no man has gone before.
