On March 17th, Woodbridge Mayor John E. McCormac joined the Woodbridge Township School District Superintendent, the Woodbridge High School football team, cheerleaders and marching band, and other local community members and officials to break ground on a new construction project. The plan? To build the Nicholas A. Priscoe Stadium — a new 1800-seat sports facility that’s sure to become a great asset to the community. Along with a brand new field house, the facilities will feature new locker rooms and training spaces for home and visiting teams, a press box, and concession facilities. Set to be ready by the fall football season, these athletic facilities will benefit students, the school community, and the township as a whole.
In recent years, Woodbridge has engaged in a series of projects to modernize school and athletic facilities as part of the School District Facilities Improvement Project, bringing turf fields to Colonia and John F. Kennedy Memorial High Schools and new playgrounds to elementary schools — plus auditorium seats, basketball courts, baseball and softball facilities, walking tracks and more. Essential parts of the larger Woodbridge community, all three public high schools in the township have earned medals and been nationally recognized within the U.S. News‘s Best High Schools rankings.
