With winter well underway, there’s no better time to take in the wealth of arts and culture that the Garden State has to offer. And there’s no better place to start than the Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC). Since its beginnings as the Rahway Theatre back in 1928, the space where UCPAC stands today has long been a hub for culture in Union County and beyond.

This season, look forward to a range of events, starting with the second annual Dance Union Festival on February 3rd, hosted in partnership with Carolyn Dorfman Dance and Buggé Ballet and showcasing the diversity of dance talents in the greater community. Over the rest of the month, an array of performances will come to the UCPAC stage, including Rev. Stef & Jubilation giving an unforgettable and moving musical performance entitled “From the Middle Passage, an African American Journey.” Other performances include the 5th annual Kicking & Swearing — a festival of original one-act plays —, plus a free concert of the music from Ain’t Misbehavin’. For the full calendar of events, visit the UCPAC website.
