DISCLAIMER:  I’m a Richard Thompson mega-fan so whatever follows in this posting should be taken with a dose of understanding that there’s no way I can contain my enthusiasm about seeing or hearing him play live after having done so at least a dozen times over the last 40 years. 

I’m not alone out there! The Los Angeles Times writes that Thompson is “The finest rock songwriter after Dylan and the best electric guitar since Hendrix.” And that’s just for starters because what Mr. Thompson has done over his decades long career is sustain a reputation as the musicians’ musician without fanfare or sensational headlines.
