As the temperatures drop and the crisp fall air makes its way back into our lives, it’s fun to embrace the season of light jackets, hot cider, and all there is to offer within a short drive from your apartment for rent in North Jersey. Thankfully, we’ve got the inside scoop on some of the best ways to keep entertained as the leaves begin to explode into vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows.

Corn Maze Train

All aboard the Delaware River Railroad. This time of year, through the end of October, you can book trips on the train for a journey to the century-old Snyder Farm. At the farm, you’re treated to the frustratingly fun experience of finding your way through the twists and turns of a classic corn maze. What’s more is that there is a game element added to the mix. Not only do you have to find your way through the maze, but you must also find six hidden podiums, punch your game card at them, and then find your way out for a chance to win a prize. On the property, there’s also the Ol’ Susquehanna Mine that you can explore and pan for gemstones.

Great Pumpkin Festival

Each year, Heaven Hill Farm hosts the largest pumpkin festival in northern New Jersey. Activities take place now through the first weekend in November and include a corn maze, hay rides, pig races, carnival rides, pony rides, and lots of food options. And of course, there are loads of fresh pumpkins for you and the kids to choose from to take home. Because what is fall in the north without at least one night of pumpkin carving?

Apple Cider Making

Particularly in the Northeast, if there is one drink to be associated with fall, it’s apple cider. (Sorry, pumpkin spice latte lovers.) There’s nothing better than warming up on a crisp day with a mug of steaming hot cider. Now you can learn how to make your own at the historic 19th-century Hacklebarney Farm Cider Mill. With more than 20 types of apples grown on the farm, the cider flavors are unique and, most importantly, fresh.

Peter Valley Fall Craft Fair

Browse the crafts of more than 150 vendors from all around the country. At the stalls, you’ll find all types of different works of art, including ceramics, textiles, jewelry, glasswork, paintings, and more. There will be live demonstrations so you can see how these exquisite pieces all come together. Plus, enjoy lots of fresh, delicious food; live music; and activities designed specifically for kids.

All the quintessential fall activities you could ever want, and just a hop, skip, and a jump away from your apartment for rent in North Jersey. Grab your scarves, travel mug, and get exploring!
