A lot of animals have lived in the White House over the last 235 years. Do you know which President had the most pets?

Our 26th President, Theodore Roosevelt, has that distinction. He began his Presidency in 1901, along with six children and more animals than the White House had ever seen. The Roosevelt children’s family of pets included many dogs, a small bear, a lizard, guinea pigs, a pig; a badger, a blue macaw, a hen, a one-legged rooster, a hyena, snakes, a barn owl, a rabbit and a pony. President Roosevelt loved the pets as much as his children did.
