Like so many, I too was entranced the first time I saw Captain Von Trapp (Christopher Plummer) and Maria (Julie Andrews) look into each other eyes in the grand musical “The Sound of Music.” After seeing Gene Kelly’s amazing performance in “Singing in the Rain” I understood what excellence in dance REALLY meant despite my sister proclaiming herself the the queen of the dance floor in the 1970’s disco era!

BestrentNJ.com Woodbridge based tenants at Fox Hill Run, Forest View, Evergreen East, Evergreen Forest and Cloverleaf Gardens are in for a treat when Wednesday 2/26 rolls around and the Barron Arts Center presents @ 7:30pm; “Musicals For Lovers”.

As part of the Dr. Stephen Kaplan ‘A Taste of The Arts’ Lecture series, this is a presentation for anyone who has been in love or anyone in love with musicals. That clearly leaves none of us out! When words are not enough to express the deepest emotions of love, there is song, and when love still cannot be contained, there is bursting out with dance.

The presentation will be given by esteemed film historians Sam & Candy Caponegro who together have presented lectures about film across the Garden State. While the lecture is free, reservations are required so please call (732)634-0413.

It bears mention that the late Dr. Stephen Kaplan was a resident of Colonia for almost 50 years, and practiced dentistry there from 1958 until his retirement in 2000. Always civic minded, he serviced his community through many volunteer efforts and leadership positions, including Arts Commissioner at the Barron Arts Center in Woodbridge, and founder of their lecture series, ‘A Taste for the Arts.’
