On your marks, get set, go! On Monday, May 30th, the Rahway Annual Mayor’s 5K Trophy Run will be back for its 11th year, as runners of all ages speed around the City Hall Complex and race for their trophies.
This Union County tradition will kick off at 9:00am with the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, for which trophies will be awarded to the top three male and female contenders. At 9:30, a free 100m Pee-Wee Dash will take place, giving kids aged 6 and under a chance to get in on the action. Finally, at 9:45, the main event will take place: the Mayor’s Trophy 5K Run & Wheelchair Athletes’ Competition will place.
The race promises exercise, excitement, and potential rewards: prize money will be offered to the top three overall athletes in both the male and female categories, while trophies will be offered to the top three male and female runners in each of nine age groups. Plus, with trophies offered to the top three Rahway resident runners and top three wheelchair athletes, there are plenty of opportunities to come out a winner.
