For the past 14 years, Perth Amboy’s Puerto Rican Day Festival has brought thousands of people together on Hall Avenue to commemorate the past, present and future of the Puerto Rican community in New Jersey. On June 11th, 12th, and 13th of this year, Hall Avenue will come alive once more, as over 20,000 guests are expected to come together to celebrate their heritage.
The Puerto Rican Day Festival brings together an array of music, dancing and entertainment. This year’s festivities include a star-filled line-up, headlined by world-famous salsa singers Andy Montanez, Tony Vega and Anthony Cruz.
Hall Avenue has served as a center for the Puerto Rican community since the 1940s. In the past 70 years, Puerto Rican residents have made great strides in the larger community; today, Perth Amboy is proud to be served by Wilda Diaz, New Jersey’s first Puerto Rican mayor. Visit Hall Avenue on June 11th-13th and celebrate Perth Amboy’s rich diversity and cultural heritage!
