Edison, NJ has some fine warm-weather institutions and traditions, including the farmer’s market, the Edison Fall Family Spectacular, and, of course, Plays-in-the-Park. For over 50 years, Middlesex County Plays-in-the-Park has entertained and delighted residents from Edison and beyond through the summer months, showcasing theatrical excellence, modern sound and lighting equipment, and talents from near and far — and launching more than a few careers along the way. This season, theatre goers can head to the Roosevelt Park Amphitheater for “Oklahoma,” on stage through July 18th, “Jesus Christ Superstar,” running from July 29th through August 8th, and “Aladdin Jr.,” the annual children’s play which will be featured on selected dates at the end of October. In addition, this season has already seen the opening and closing of “Young Frankenstein,” the hilarious re-interpretation of the classic Mary Shelley book based on the Mel Brooks film of the same name.
