Since 2008, Mayor Wilda Diaz has been advocating for updates to the Perth Amboy train station. These updates would mean more accessibility for passengers with disabilities and better facilities overall. This summer, New Jersey Transit earmarked $9.6 million toward improving the 86 year-old station, marking an important step toward making the vision of a vibrant Perth Amboy train station a reality.
Diaz and the City see this is an important step toward economic opportunity, including the creation of a “transit village” — making the train station and its environs and inviting, vital destination for Perth Amboy residents and visitors alike.
The Perth Amboy train station is located on Elm Street between Smith Street and Market Street in Perth Amboy, NJ, and offers service via New Jersey Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line to New York, Hoboken, Bayhead and destinations in between.
