For art classes, gallery exhibits, performances and more, the Perth Amboy Gallery Center for the Arts is the center of Perth Amboy.

Currently, visitors can go to the Perth Amboy Gallery to see the work of Perth Amboy native Kenneth Hari. A painter, sculptor, lithographer and more, Hari is best known for his portraits, having painted numerous celebrities and public figures over the years. The work on display at Perth Amboy Gallery Center for the Arts will feature a collection of the artist’s paintings, sculptures and drawings for the exhibit “Perth Amboy’s Native Son.”

On display through the December 31st, 2010, this exhibit marks the end of a year filled with beautiful art from around the neighborhood and beyond: March and April brought “The Many Faces of Eve,” in honor of Women’s History Month, while the summer months saw a Colombian Retrospective, featuring artists living in Colombia and the tri-state area. In addition, July and August brought “Eyes of the City, An Artistic Tribute to Perth Amboy,” showing the township as it has been represented in art throughout the years.

The Perth Amboy Gallery Center for the Arts is a cultural center and art gallery, showing new and established artists who have a connection to Perth Amboy and Central Jersey. Featuring performances, lectures, workshops and more, the Gallery is open free to the public Monday through Saturday from 1 to 6pm.
