The Perth Amboy Train Station is a vital part of life in this Middlesex County township, offering service to New York, Hoboken, Bayhead and destinations in between via New Jersey Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line, and serving approximately 1,700 daily weekday trips. Over the course of the past eight years, the township has been working to secure funds for a renovation project to the station. The improvements will bring two new side high-level platforms, four new elevators, new stairs and ramps, upgraded restrooms, rehabilitated buildings and overall ADA compliance. As of this past December, the project is set to move forward: NJ Transit has committed almost $47 million toward the project, ensuring its completion and success.
Riders can look forward to completed designs at the end of 2018, with construction expected to commence in early 2019.
