Twice a year, the New Jersey Film Festival offers a series with some of the most interesting “experimental, offbeat and influential cinema” around. Due to COVID-19, the fall 2020 festival can’t take place in person — but that doesn’t mean it’s canceled.

Since mid-September and continuing until October 25th, this fascinating series is streaming its offerings online. In the coming weeks, virtual attendees can look forward to narrative films, documentaries and shorts from a range of filmmakers — including “The Pine Barrens,” a documentary from David Scott Kessler about the gorgeous and, increasingly, threatened forest in the Garden State. Other documentary offerings include “The Palindromists,” about the history of and competition around palindromes, and “In Case of Emergency,” looking at emergency rooms around the country. For a full list of offerings or to get your tickets today, visit the New Jersey Film Festival online.
