As August winds to a close and Labor Day approaches, community members big and small all see one thing on the horizon. It’s back to school season, and this year, students returning to Woodbridge elementary schools have more than reading, writing and arithmetic in store. Several elementary schools in the township are coming out of summer with brand new playgrounds–bringing fresh ways to explore, imagine and have some fun.

Pennsylvania Avenue School  and Indiana Avenue School  both unveiled new playgrounds this past spring, while Ross Street School #11’s playground is currently under renovation.Menlo Park Terrace School #19 will enjoy a new and improved playground area in the near future.

These improvements are part of the Playground Renovation Project, an effort brought forth in collaboration by Woodbridge Township, the Woodbridge Board of Education, the Woodbridge School District, and the Departments of Public Works and Recreation. Offering updated equipment and new facilities including sports courts and walking paths, these recreational areas mean more ways for kids and parents alike to enjoy being outside in Woodbridge.
