Montvale’s 21st Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Friday 12/3 @
Last week, I had a James Stewart “It’s a Wonderful Life” moment while winding down Morris Avenue in my old hometown of Union as I passed the library and nearby City Hall.
The sight of workers setting up holiday props on the incline instantly transported me to thinking about the times my parents would take us to the annual township tree lighting. Back in the day, my sister and I would bound out of the car as soon as we parked heading straight toward our friends who were already there feasting on whatever goodies were being offered. Not a care was given to the weather or how cold it may have been; it was the magic of the moment the tree was lit that warmed us and ushered in winters arrival leading to the coming exchange of gifts we expected once the holiday arrived!
BestrentNJ.com Montvale residents at Woodland Square can enjoy their own Christmas magic moment when the Montvale Special Events Committee presents their 21st Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Memorial Drive on Friday @7pm. Bring the whole family for a festive evening of music, candy canes, cookies and hot chocolate (refreshments courtesy of Wegmans) and start your Christmas holiday a few weeks earlier. No need to worry about the weather either – the township will have a heated tent to keep you and yours toasty and dry.
Yes, it IS a wonderful life here in Montvale all yours to relish in this joyous time of year.
