Each year in Metuchen, the Winter Festival Parade and the annual Christmas Tree Lighting mark the beginning of the holiday season: the season of cookie decorating, holiday sweaters, trees, decoration, lights, mistletoe, miracles and more. This year, the town’s annual parade and tree lighting will be held on Sunday, November 25th.
In previous years, the parade has brought out residents young and old to march, watch and join in the fun. Look forward to costumes, floats, a marching band, and a procession of community groups showing off the good work that they do all year round, as well as their community spirit. Now in its 65th year, this annual event is hosted by the Metuchen Area Chamber of Commerce and is, this year, sponsored by Hackensack Meridian Health JFK Medical Center. This year’s theme is “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” and will begin at 4pm
The Christmas Tree Lighting is hosted by the Metuchen Fire Department, the Borough Improvement League and the Metuchen Area Chamber of Commerce and will kick off at 5:30pm. Come out to take in the beautiful spectacle as light and color are brought into the dark night sky.
The Metuchen Winter Festival Parade will be held in downtown Metuchen, culminating in the Tree Lighting, to be held at the Plaza.
