For those of us who love Nordstroms, the news that 16 of their locations would be closing for good due to the pandemic was sad to ponder. After being closed for months, the Nordstrom at the Menlo Park Mall reopened for business on Tuesday, June 16, the company announced. According to Nordstrom, more than half of their sales now come through their website but they still consider their physical stores to be vital. The company is taking a phased approach to reopening it’s core physical store presence and considers each location on a market-to-market basis. Edison residents are encouraged to shop from 11am-7pm and curbside pickup is still available till 5pm. Face coverings will also be distributed to all employees and customers. Here are some other safety features for you to feel confident venturing into the store;
· Nordstroms is conducting health screenings for their employees before they come into work
· They’ve taken steps to allow for social distancing of six feet or more, including limiting the number of customers and employees in the store
· Increased cleaning and sanitization
· Modifying the fitting room experience
· Continuing to offer contactless curbside services at their full-line stores
· Pausing or adapting high-touch services and customer events
· Keeping tried-on and returned merchandise OFF the sales-floor for a period of time
