For the past few years, Roselle Park has been relatively quiet on Memorial Day. That’s because its annual Memorial Day Parade took a few years off; the last one was held in 2009. This year, the celebration is back — and that means a parade on Chestnut Street from Grant Avenue to Webster Avenue, to be followed by a ceremony on the Roselle Park Veterans Memorial Library lawn and a picnic at the Casano Community Center.
This event kicks off another year for Roselle Park’s SummerFest — a series of events and promotions designed to bring residents out of the house and visitors into the township. Last year’s events included a Fourth of July fireworks ceremony, film series, karaoke night, summer concert series, photography exhibit, arts cafe, “Halloween in August,” and much, much more. Stay tuned to find out what SummerFest has in store for 2014.
Residents are invited to come out for this year’s Memorial Day celebration starting at 10am on May 26th — and to stay active throughout the summer season. In Roselle Park, the fun is just getting started.
