Since 1927, the Metuchen Memorial Day Parade has brought thousands of people out to the streets to commemorate soldiers who have given their lives in service to our country. On Monday, May 28th, Metuchen will continue in its decades-long tradition with one of the most iconic Memorial Day parades in Central Jersey.

Starting at 10am at the Pearl Street Parking Lot and making its way toward Memorial Park, this rain or shine event will include guest of honor remarks from Rear Admiral Timothy Beard, III, along with marching groups including the Metuchen High School Marching Band.

Over the course of the day, participants and spectators alike will be able to enjoy the colorful Main Street store windows, decorated by local children for the parade, along with the annual bicycle decorating contest. With activities for the whole family, this annual event is a wonderful way to spend time with the larger community while paying respects to those who have fought for our nation.

This year’s parade theme is “Honoring Our Women in the Military.” Special attention has been paid to honoring female veterans as Grand Marshals at the parade.
