Vincent Van Gogh is arguably one of the most revered and well-known artists who ever lived. During his lifetime however, Van Gogh was hardly known and suffered financial hardships. Notwithstanding, his prodigious output in the last decade of his life resulted in 2,100 artworks of which 860 were oil paintings.

Woodbridge residents at  Fox Hill RunForest View, Evergreen East, Evergreen Forest and Cloverleaf Gardens are invited on March 3rd @7pm to attend the Woodbridge Library’s online virtual “Meet The Artist” series to discover the life of history’s most famous and storied painter – Vincent Van Gogh.

Registration is required for this free event. Click here to register at https://bit.ly/371calo or call 732-634-4450. On the day before the program you will be sent the Zoom meeting information by email.

We can draw inspiration from not only this masters art-works but from the fact that Van Gogh failed at a number of careers before he began painting! He tried his hand at many other careers such as an art dealer (like his brother Theo), school teacher and preacher. Incredibly, Van Gogh only started painting at the relatively late age of 27 (the last decade of his short life) and was mostly self-taught.
