New Jersey isn’t called the Garden State for nothing: the state has a celebrated farming background, and is home to lush nature and multiple ecologies. To take advantage of the beautiful flora and fauna right here in our backyard, visit the annual Fall Forestry Festival, coming up on Saturday, October 10th and located at the Forest Resource Education Center in Jackson, NJ.

From 10am to 3pm, this yearly event is a wonderful opportunity to learn about our natural environment and take in the beauty of the pines. Enjoy fun, hikes and educational opportunities, along with the company of dressed-up characters like Smokey Bear, Woodsy Owl, and Treeture Squirrel. This fun-for-the-whole-family event will have engaging nature-themed talks and activities you won’t want to miss.

As the rest of the season continues, you can look forward to more forestry events around the state sponsored by the state’s Environmental Service. Learn more here, and enjoy the benefits of living in such a beautiful, nature-filled environment.
