After a 5 year, $600,000 renovation, an industrial pier has been transformed into a beautiful, huge recreational amenity at Harbortown in Perth Amboy. The T-shaped pier, 220 feet long and 200 feet wide, now has brick pavers, 3 large gazebos, and seating for 25 people. The seats face in all directions, with some in the sun, and others in the shade. The pier extends into the Arthur Kill, providing great fishing and views of both Raritan Harbor and a marina across the way in Staten Island. The pier is accessed via a 1,000 foot long, 16 foot wide promenade with an entrance on Buckingham Avenue. An additional 10 seats are available on the promenade.
