Halloween isn’t just a one-day affair in Secaucus, NJ. That’s because the township hosts spooktacular halloween events for over a week — filling October with tricks, treats and haunted, costumed fun.
On Friday, October 23rd, head over to Spooky Friday at Schmidt’s Woods, a resident-only event featuring a haunted trail, a not-so-haunted house, a petting zoo, hayrides and more. Gates open at 5:30pm and activities kick off at 5:45pm. On Sunday, October 25th, make your way to the Clarendon School at 1pm for the Annual Ragamuffin Parade or go to Buchmuller Park for pumpkin picking and painting. Friday, October 30th marks mischief night, a raucous energy release for 5th-8th graders, while at night the Secaucus Animal Shelter hosts its annual costume dinner dance, complete with a DJ, raffle, 50/50 drawings, a costume contest and more. All proceeds from dinner dance ticket sales will go toward supporting the Animal Shelter. The next day, residents are invited to trick out their vehicles for “Trunk or Treat.”
All of this, of course, builds up to the big night: Halloween itself, where residents will trick or treat and greet their costumed neighbors with candy.
The October, Secaucus is the place to be. Participate in one or more of this year’s events to make the most out of the fall holiday season.
