The moment I heard Graham Parkers wiry snarl in the late 1970’s, I was hooked. Here was an artist who sang with earnest conviction letting me know that “Passion is No Ordinary Word” and that “You Can’t be Too Strong” to the beat of a fiery band of British pub rockers – The Rumour – who made you stop and listen. These songs on the album (remember albums?!) Squeezing Out Sparks, became my sonic life rafts buoying me thru uncharted choppy waters or sailing happily thru life’s sundry pleasures. Rock n Roll will do that to you every time when it’s great!
