Did you know that the very first food trucks date back to the chuckwagon? These covered wagons sold perishable food to cowboys and loggers in the American wilderness.

In a typical chuck wagon, you’d find beans, cured meat, coffee, and biscuits. It would also carry water, and wood to build fires. Many also functioned as mobile barbershops, even a mobile dental office!

If you’re an Edison based BestrentNJ.com tenant at Edison WoodsEdison Woods Senior 55+Edison VillageBlueberry Village, & Rivendell Heights, you won’t need to time travel thru the American wilderness to enjoy the varietal perks of modern food truck culture – just head to St. Thomas Aquinas High School come June 10 for their first inaugural Food Truck & Music Festival on June 10 and indulge your appetite from 1pm – 7pm with mobile food fare from far and near!

They’ll be plenty of entertainment for the whole family besides food so prepare to make a day of it with bands playing live music, a petting zoo and a bounce house for the kids. The organizers suggest that you bring your lawn chairs, appetite, pups and blankets. They also appreciate if you’d bring a non-perishable food item to help support the local food pantry.
