Every year, over 33 million Christmas trees end up in our local landfills, so it’s important to properly dispose of them in your local community. By the third week of January, the Environmental Center will begin their annual Christmas Tree Pick-Up near your Florham Park apartment. The Department of Public works will only be making one pass through town, so trees must be on the curb no later than January 12th. However, trees can also be dropped off at the Environmental Center on Fridays between 9 am and 2 pm or Saturdays 8 am to 12 pm.
The Environmental Center accepts recyclables such as cardboard, bottles, cans, newspapers, and more. The recycling center also comes equipped with a compactor that disposes of large household items such as furniture, bicycles, small appliances, toys, and re-construction material. However, the compactor is only available on Saturdays and any commercial vehicles that intend to use it are required to obtain a permit from the Department of Public Works prior to disposable. Please be sure to bring your driver’s license or another form of proof of Florham park residency in order to be admitted into the recycling center.
