Have you wondered what a “Cask” beer is? Cask beer or ale, also known as cask-conditioned beer or ‘real’ ale, is beer that undergoes secondary fermentation in the barrel. Unlike brewers of “keg beer,” brewers of cask ale don’t interfere with it, they don’t filter it and they don’t pasteurize it. All they do is put fresh live beer straight into the barrel where, still in unfinished form containing lots of lovely fruity residual yeast, it remains alive and kicking until it lands in your glass.
Ewing Township residents at Ewing Town Center, River Links and Delaware Heights are in for a treat when the River Horse Brewing Company features its annual CASK FEST event for 2023 on Saturday February 25 @ 7pm at 2 Graphics Drive in Ewing Township.
The folks at River Horse Brewery will be tapping 20 specialty casks featuring their traditional favorites along with some new creations they’ll be unveiling for the event! There will be live music to entertain as you sip their unique creations and for your $25 ticket you’ll receive a 5 ounce sampler glass along with 3 beer tokens. Each cask sample requires a beer token and they are available for $3 each or 3 for $7. There will also be options for full draft pours.
While the brewery offers limited parking and there may be spots available on Graphics Drive, attendees are encouraged to use Uber, Lyft and other local taxi services. For any questions, feel free to contact the brewery via email at info@riverhorse.com or by phone 609-883-0890.
