The Howell Living History Farm was a working farm for 240 years before its last owner donated it to Mercer County in March 1974. “Living history” experiences are the most impacting lessons we absorb. Learning by doing, seeing and experiencing as it was done in a simpler time can enhance our understanding of both then and now.

Ewing Township residents at Ewing Town CenterRiver Links and Delaware Heights are in for a delightful day when The Howell Living History Farm presents it’s 36th Annual Fiddlers Contest on 8/26 from 10am-4pm.

Some fine fiddlin’ will be a coming your way and don’t be surprised to find some of the areas best talents – fiddlers, guitarists, mandolin players – out about, bowing, picking and a plucking away neath an oak tree, gathered on a porch or out on the lawn playing folk and bluegrass tunes!

Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets for the contest, which begins at 12:00 under the trees on the farmhouse lawn. The day will also feature homemade food, ice cream, horse-drawn wagon rides, a children’s craft, and a closing performance featuring 30 fiddlers. To visit the farms website, please click here.
