Now in its sixth season, the Edison Valley Playhouse has become a hub for quality theater in the heart of Middlesex County. Since the fall, the Playhouse has featured diverse productions including “Bleacher Bums,” a play originally conceived in the 1970s by Joe Mantegna about a group of Chicago Cubs fans. In addition, the stage has seen “Rented Christmas: the Musical,” William Finn’s “A New Brain,” and more.
This year’s successful season will wrap up with three exciting productions. From the Edison Valley Players, look forward to James Sherman’s “Beau Jest,” and James Robert Brown’s “Songs From a New Heart”. Beau Jest, a heart-warming comedy about a young woman inventing the perfect boyfriend to please her parents, will run from March 18th through April 2nd. “Songs From a New World,” an innovative musical performance about people forced to make hard choices, will run from May 13th through the 28th. In addition, the Alliance Repertory Theatre Company, which earlier this season performed “Boom,” will be staging Neil LaBute’s “Reasons to be Pretty” from April 15th through the 30th.
