Without the warmth of the sun, where would we be? The whole point of it all is that we simply wouldn’t be – at all!

In fact, life on planet Earth without the sun – the largest object in our solar system – would be too cold for animals to live, and without sunlight plants would have no nourishment, seasons would cease and ocean currents would be no more.

Getting up close to the sun is no easy thing either considering it’s temperature of 5,500 ºC (compared to boiling water 100ºC or a bonfire at 600ºC) but Edison based BestrentNJ.com tenants and their children at Edison WoodsEdison Woods Senior 55+Edison VillageBlueberry Village, & Rivendell Heights, can get a really close-up view when the Edison Public Library presents it’s SOLAR VIEWING in association with Pearl Observatory on Tuesday November 28 from 3-4pm on the Side Lawn at the Main Library.

Using a “safe solar” telescope, attendees will view storms, sunspots and solar flares and learn about the suns rotation and weather conditions.

This free event is open for ages 5 and up, teens and adults and registration begins on November 13 @9:30am. By clicking here you can head straight to the registration page on the library’ website.
