In Edison, community spirit means working together to make the township one of the best places to live in New Jersey. That’s why Edison is proud of its Clean Communities Program, which works with local schools, neighborhood groups, preservation committees, municipal government representatives and other stakeholders to organize clean-up days, educational programs, park sponsorships and more.
This Sunday, April 27th at Papaianni Park, Edison Clean Communities will be one of the proud hosts of Edison Earth Day — which will include a bike ride, volunteer plantings, site cleaning and other fun and sustainable activities. Free tree saplings have been provided by the Arbor Day Foundation to be planted into the ground by conservationists and volunteers; participate this Sunday and help replant some of the trees that were lost to Superstorm Sandy last fall.
Want to introduce your kids to the world of gardening? The National Gardening Association’s Gardening With Kids Program means there will be free vegetable and flower packets at the park, along with youth gardening information for the township’s youngest greenthumbs.
