The onset of spring is a great time to appreciate all that nature provides — the air we breathe, the water we drink and the sun that shines so brightly upon us at this time of year. It figures, then, that April is also the month in which we celebrate Earth Day. And in Edison this year, there are lots of ways you can mark this annual occasion.
On Sunday, April 24th from 9am to 3pm, Edison will be hosting a range of civic activities, from volunteer flower planting and lake and park litter cleanup to a composting demonstration, a mini edition of the Edison Farmers Market, a recycling FAQ, on-site water and soil testing, and much, much more. For those looking for some physical exercise, the rock wall will be set up and available for climbing from 10am until 2pm. All events will be held at Papaianni Park, located at 100 Municipal Blvd in Edison.
Sponsored by local and national businesses along with a host of local civic groups, Edison Earth Day offers a great way to get out of the house and get your hands dirty. Kick off spring with your fellow residents at Earth Day this year — the fun is just getting started.
