This weekend, New Jersey will be the center of the football universe, as MetLife Stadium hosts Super Bowl XLVII — the first ever “outdoor, cold weather Super Bowl.” The hotly anticipated NFL game will see NFC West victors the Seattle Seahawks face off against the AFC West-winning Denver Broncos for the title of 2013 NFL champion. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30pm on February 2nd, weather permitting. In the event of heavy snow, the game will be rescheduled to either the day before or a day or two later.
For New Jersey residents, this marks an exciting day, indeed. MetLife Stadium is home to both the New York Giants and the New York Jets, making this side of the Hudson the epicenter for football in the region year-round. This weekend, it will be the football center of the world.
