One of the great things about living close to a university is the ability to catch world class speakers and performances. For those residents living near the College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ, this month’s Brown Bag Series offers the chance to hear about incredible art, technology, music and storytelling.

On Fridays from 12:30-1:30pm, head over to the Music Building’s Mildred & Ernest E. Mayo Concert Hall to have your mind and your world expanded.

On Friday, February 2nd, look forward to a talk by Michael Kawas, Founder and CEO of Game-U, an after-school program that teaches children video game design, coding and robotics. Then, on February 9th, there will be a talk by Professor Axel Englund on opera, hosted by the music department. The rest of the month will include talks by Joyce Yu-Jean Lee, a New York-based artist and the lead artist and founder of Firewall, a pop-up Internet cafe researching Internet censorship; Yvonne Latty, Director of the Reporting New York and Reporting the Nation programs at New York University’s Carter Journalism Institute; and more.
