For over a millennium, people have celebrated St. Patrick’s day with feasts and merriment. A day to commemorate the patron Saint of Ireland, this religious and cultural holiday offers revelers the opportunity to sing, dance, and be merry. And, in many parts of North America, the tradition also includes eating a healthy helping of corned beef and cabbage.
Although not a dish native to Ireland, corned beef became popular with Irish American immigrants during the 19th century. Today, it’s considered by some to be a staple of St. Patrick’s Day, and, if you find yourself in Secaucus, you can join in the tradition.
On Saturday, March 18th from 4pm-8pm, American Legion Post #118 will host an all-you-can-eat corned beef St. Patrick’s Day celebration. For $10, you can indulge in all the corned beef you (and your waistline) can handle. An annual tradition, this event marks a great way to have a delicious meal, connect with your community, and celebrate in the St. Patrick’s Day Spirit.
American Legion Post #118 is located at the corner of 2nd and Centre in Secaucus. BestRentNJ.com rental apartments located nearby include Xchange at Secaucus Junction and East Rutherford’s Liberty Terrace.
