The summertime family thrill of attending a fair is something adults like me carry with them throughout their lives. The carnival barker, the smell of popcorn wafting in the air, the hum of the Tilt-a-Whirl as you make your way down the colorful midway, snow cones, the games of chance, prizes and funnel cakes…yes, some pleasures are never outdated no matter how old we get.
Hillsborough residents at Beekman Gardens, Amwell Terrace, New Center Greens and Sunnymeade Run are encouraged to bring their loved ones and friends to the annual HILLSBOROUGH ROTARY FAIR. The fair will be open for five days beginning Tuesday, Aug. 13. Fair hours are 6–10 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday, (Aug. 13-15) and 6–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday (Aug. 16-17). Taking place at the field adjacent to the Lowe’s at the Hillsborough Promenade at 315 Route 206, attendees will enjoy more than 20 amusement rides, awesome food choices from local vendors, nightly entertainment, Friday night fireworks and raffle tickets sold each night before the Saturday 10pm drawing for one BIG prize.
Your $35 wristband does more than give you unlimited rides at the fair…it also supports the Rotary Club of Hillsborough Foundation dedicated to needed community services and programs. Business people will also find the fair to be an invaluable portal for community networking as local businesses will be featured in an expo setting at the fair.
