The township has 3 public schools: the McKenzie School, the Alfred S. Faust School, and the Henry P. Becton Regional High School, whose student body hails from both East Rutherford and Carlstadt townships.

The Meadowlands includes the IZOD Center, home of the NBA’s New Jersey Nets, and Giants Stadium, home to both the New York Giants and the New York Jets.     East Rutherford is serviced by NJ Transit’s Rutherford Train Station, located on the border of East Rutherford and Rutherford Townships, and providing service to Midtown Manhattan via the Bergen County Rail Line. Additionally, the 76, 160, 163, 164 and 322 buses run through the town, providing connection to Newark and New York City.
