Understanding our rights for Special Education needs is a fundamental first step in gaining perspective on the challenges faced by those who need help the most.

On October 25 from 7-8pm, families of Woodbridge residents at  Fox Hill Run,  Forest View, Evergreen East, Evergreen Forest and Cloverleaf Gardens can glean rare insights by attending the Woodbridge Public Library’s presentation, “Special Education: Basic Rights”. This presentation educates families on the basic rights in education law, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the applicable state provisions. It covers what is meant by a free and appropriate public educational, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Evaluations, Re-evaluations, compensatory education, and implementing basic rights in education when schools are closed.
